Miles matter when a person is sick. They also matter when a person is hungry.
That's why the Jamestown Regional Medical Center Carrington Clinic hosted a Cook Out in August. More than 120 people attended the event, which celebrated the clinic's one-year anniversary. As part of the cookout, guests could make a freewill donation to Carrington Daily Bread.
On Friday, Aug. 17, Dr. Michael T. Dean, JRMC Orthopedic Surgeon, delivered $888 to Anna Grenz who volunteers with Carrington Daily Bread.
The burden of travel can add expense, stress and anxiety to the life of a person who should focus on healing. That's why Jamestown Regional Medical Center opened the JRMC Carrington Clinic in summer 2017.
In one year, the JRMC Carrington Clinic served about 300 people, saving them 24,000 miles of travel.
"As a rural hospital, we know how important healthy food and healthy bodies are," said Trisha Jungels, JRMC Interim President & CEO. "Our vision is to be the best rural hospital in the country. We can do that by helping our communities through this donation and by offering specialty services in this area."
The JRMC Carrington Clinic is located at 923 1st St S., adjacent to the Dr. Jay Bauer dental clinic. Learn more at http://www.jrmcnd.com/CarringtonClinic.
