The Tiffany 4-H Club members gathered for a meeting on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018 before the Eddy County 4-H Roundup.
There were 14 members and 2 leaders in attendance: Keegan Anderson, Gretchen Berglund, Nick Berglund, Hallie Brown, Bailey Jacobson, Layton Jacobson, Taylin Jacobson, Neecie Swart, Tillie Swart, Chaztin Wobbema, Lora Wobbema, Hannah Wobbema, Macey Wobbema, Maggie Wobbema, and leaders Karla Berglund and Amy Wobbema. There were also several parents of members at the meeting including Karla Jacobson, Chelsea Swart and Ann Wobbema.
As at every meeting, the members stood to recite the Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H Pledge. The pledges are written out below for the reader of this article.
Pledge of Allegiance:"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
4-H Pledge "I pledge my head to clearer thinking, my heart to greater loyalty, my hands to larger service, and my health to better living, for my club, my community, my country and my world."
The members talked about the last meeting, the treasurer's report, old business and new business.
The members nominated and elected officers for the 2018-19 year. Officers elected include President: Gretchen Berglund; Vice-President: Keegan Anderson; Secretary: Lora Wobbema; Treasurer: Hallie Brown; Reporter: Tillie Swart; Flag Leaders: Neecie Swart and Taylin Jacobson; Photographers: Chaztin Wobbema, Layton Jacobson, Macey Wobbema and Maggie Wobbema.
The members talked briefly about options for boosting funds and decided to table the subject until the next meeting.
The members voted in favor of donating $35 to DPRCA for use of the basement for a project meeting.
The next meeting was planned for the end of October.
