Many area folks attended a Celebration of Life on Wednesday for Roger Wick at the Merle and Sandy Longnecker ranch. Enlightening and comforting messages were given by long time Wick family friend, Ralph Dyrness, and Roger’s brother Rudy. There was special music presented by family and a catered meal was shared in fellowship and remembrance of Roger.

The Shirley Packard home was the center of activity over the Steam Thresher weekend. Friday found daughter Christy and Jeff Schuda, Cooper and Parker arriving from Mound View, Minn., and daughter Cheryl, Dave and Brandon Gabbert of Sartell, Minn.. Saturday found Calvin Packard and the guys gopher hunting and attending the steam threshers show. In the evening, Calvin treated all to grilled steaks with all the fixings at Shirley's. Vida Klocke of Underwood, N.D., was also a visitor. Saturday evening Shirley and Vida visited at the Todd Harrison home. Sunday Cheryl and Parker and Shirley enjoyed dinner at the Rockford Cafe.

Wednesday, Martin and Eloise Lucht were in Devils Lake where Martin had an eye appointment. They enjoyed a visit over veggie soup at the Ardy Salisbury home, and were brief visitors at the Jay Schneider home. The Luchts returned to Devils Lake Friday as Eloise had her turn at the Eye Clinic.

Tuesday visitors at the Lillian Gedrose home were Lillian’s brother Gordon and Betty Schimke of Bismarck.

Amanda Indergaard was honored with a bridal shower Sunday at the New Rockford Golf Course. Among the many attending were Janelle Koepplin, Karen and Allyssa Koepplin, Melony Allmaras, Gina Clifton and Cassidy, and Metta McDowell.

Friday, Shirley Packard tended to the Eddy County Museum.

Friday afternoon visitor at the Lillian Gedrose home was Janine Anderson.

Sunday, Leo and Janet Laube and Yip Yip took an autumn drive to Devils Lake.
