The Lake Region State College Playmakers are pleased to offer their fall production "Nevermore! Edgar Allan Poe: the final mystery" by Julian Wiles.
This fantastical play will be produced during the 171st anniversary of Edgar Allan Poe's final days, opening Thursday, Oct. 4 and closing on Oct. 7, the anniversary of Poe's death.
In September of 1847, Poe is reported to have boarded a steamer in Baltimore Harbor for an overnight voyage to New York City. He never arrived. Five days later, Poe was found delirious on a Baltimore street and died soon thereafter. What transpired over those five missing days has remained forever a mystery... until now.
This imaginative play, utilizing the macabre stories and poems of one of America's most celebrated writers, ponders what might have happened to him on the dreary nightmare voyage at the end of his life. Filled with masterful illusions and disappearances, "Nevermore!" keeps audiences on the edge of their seats from the first curtain to the final denouement.
The cast is led by Milton Wiah as the troubled Poe, Brianna Cassidy as the ghostly love of his life, Annabel Lee. Charles Craddock as Poe's inspiration Jeramiah Reynolds, and Casey Cook as the mysterious Captain of Poe's last journey.
The ensemble who play various characters from Poe's stories, as well as friends, fans and foes are: Rosa Quiroz, Morgan Gebhardt, Bethany Shipley, Lacie Kraft, Rebecca Trautman, Angela Lee, Macie Kraft, Dawson Halle, Miriam Sullivan, Emily Mudgett, Isaiah DeMarce, Sydney Dennis, Kale Krogfoss, Vanessa Ball, Katherine Dares, Taylor Gaines and Karly Horniston.
The show runs Oct. 4-6 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 7 at 2 p.m. Tickets available at the door. Tickets are $10 for adults; $5 for seniors/military; students $1. LRSC students get FREE admission.
