Volleyball action: Rockets defeat Hornets and Wildcats

Rockets sting Hornets

As a team, New Rockford-Sheyenne (NR-S) had a good overall effort as they defeated Harvey-Wells County with a final score of 3 -1 in Region 4 Volleyball action played at Fessenden on Thursday, Sept. 20. The Hornets could be one of the top teams in Region 4.

The set scores were 25-18, 25-18, 20-25 and 25-15. The Rockets are now 1-0 in Region 4 and are now 5-3, overall.

Rockets defeat Wildcats

New Rockford-Sheyenne (NR-S) played a good overall match as they defeated Benson County (BC) by a final score of 3-1 in Region 4 volleyball action played here on Tuesday, Sept. 26.

The set scores were 25-15, 25-20, 18-25 and 25-17. These two teams were pretty evenly matched and played a good game. The Rockets improved to 2-0 in Region 4 play and 9-5 overall.

Rockets compete in Devils Lake tournament

New Rockford-Sheyenne (NR-S) Rockets varsity volleyball team traveled to Devils Lake for a tournament on Saturday, Sept. 22.

In pool play, the Rockets defeated the Devils Lake JV with set totals of 20-25, 25-17 and won two straight sets against St. John (25-15 and 25-17) and Bottineau (25-21 and 25-18).

Then in tournament play, NR-S lost their first match to North Star 25-23, 23-25 and 7-15. At the end of the day, they won three, lost one and played quite well overall.
