Residents encouraged to complete community needs survey

For the past couple months, the New Rockford Area Betterment Corporation (NRABC) has engaged the community in its strategic planning efforts. Now these planning efforts include a community wide survey, which will be available from Oct. 8-26. Community member input is needed in this survey, as it is important to hear all of the voices to gain an accurate perception of resident wants and needs.

It is the goal of the NRABC to be proactive in keeping the community vital. So far in the strategic planning process the NRABC has engaged with business owners over coffee and lunch, and held two community forums.

According to NRABC Executive Director Amanda Hegland, attendance and feedback have been great, as community members have articulated their needs and shared great ideas for what they envision for the future of New Rockford. A few of the priorities that have arisen from the meetings include enhanced signage, town beautification and clean up, recreation, tourism and business development.

The NRABC board will compile the data from the surveys with the findings from the strategic planning meetings to determine priorities and projects for the next five years.

To complete the survey online, go to http://www.cityofnewrockford.com and click the survey link on the homepage.

Paper copies of the survey are available at Rockford Café, Bank Forward, Community Credit Union, Bakers Dozen and City Hall. Completed paper surveys should be returned to New Rockford City Hall, located at 117 1st St S on the east side of U.S. Hwy. 281.
