The Eddy County VFW Auxiliary met Oct. 2 at the clubhouse in Sheyenne. Planning is underway for their annual Veteran's Day supper for members and their guests.
Last Wednesday, Patti Clifton accompanied Jan Loe and Carol Nerlien to Grand Forks for a day of appointments and some shopping.
Thursday evening, the Credit Union Chapter Meeting was held a the Sheyenne Senior Center with about 40 attendees from area credit unions. Along with a business meeting and guest speakers, those in attendance enjoyed a meal of meatballs and gravy, mashed potatoes, squash, lettuce salad, pickles and fresh dinner buns, plus a choice of apple crisp or pumpkin dessert. The meal was prepared and served by community volunteers - Dianne Hanson, Jan Loe, Darlene Kolstad, Diane Karlsbraaten, Patti Clifton and Kathy Albrecht.
Despite the weather bringing 6 inches of wet snow to Sheyenne, a good number of area residents received their annual flu shots from the Eddy County Public Health Unit at the Sheyenne Senior Center on Friday morning.
Jan Loe attended the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd Annual Fall Festival on Sunday afternoon.
Jeff and Denise Labrensz enjoyed spending Friday evening with Jase Pfeiffer while his folks, Matt and Allison Pfeiffer, attended the New Rockford-Sheyenne Homecoming football game.
Saturday evening, Jeff and Denise attended the Oktoberfest — the Dakota Prairie Regional Center for the Arts fundraiser at the Brown Memorial in New Rockford. Sunday, they attended the Lutheran Home Fall Festival and Annual Meeting.
