There was beautiful music throughout the state on Saturday, Oct. 13. The North Dakota American Choral Directors Association hosted its annual Surround the State in Song, a fifth and sixth-grade honor choir. New Rockford-Sheyenne School took six young singers to the Jamestown site, as each music teacher or choral director is invited to select up to six of his or her best singers to attend.
The final concert took place in six locations across North Dakota simultaneously at 4 p.m. A total of 475 singers performed in Dickinson, Minot, Bismarck, Fargo, Grand Forks and Jamestown. The students performed the same selections at each site.
