Congratulations to Jakob Schmid on being awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the ND Grain Dealers Foundation. Jakob is an NDSU student majoring in agricultural economics.

Tom and Pam Schmid attended Jason and Marta Smith’s wedding in Devils Lake on Saturday.

One day this week, Newton Dick and his wife, Eunice of Lorena, Texas, visited Lester and Jackie Roberts. Chad Getscher visited the Roberts’ on Tuesday.

Bobbi and Tom Duberowski of Parkers Prairie, Minn., spent the weekend visiting Lester and Jackie. Lezlee Thorson and Bob Hoffart visited Lester and Jackie on Sunday.

Sunday, Betty Rushfeldt visited her sister Sharon Rance in Devils Lake and also her sister, Janet Bartz and her husband, Larry from Fargo. The Bartz’s were at Sharon’s home.

Doris Griffin had a busy week. Monday morning, she enjoyed an interesting meeting of the Association of Carefree Teachers at Harriman’s in Maddock. The group enjoyed lunch there after their meeting. Following lunch, Doris went to the Memorial Home for carving class. Monday evening, Doris went to Devils Lake to meet with the carvers there. Thursday evening, Doris attended the monthly meeting of the Friends of Sully’s Hill.

Patty Hegland spent Wednesday through Saturday at the Lake Metigoshe Ministries Retreat Center for quilting. Tuesday night, Jake and Amanda Hegland hosted supper for Patty and Jarvis Hegland and Jake’s uncle, Larry Stadheim of Hettinger. Sunday, Jake, Amanda, Fallyn and Piper attended the fundraiser dinner for the Open Season Lodge in Sheyenne.

On Wednesday, lunch guests at Dave and Linda Madson’s were Carrie Madson and Paul Prince. Linda’s nephew, Kelly VenHuizen of Cooperstown stopped by on his way back to Cooperstown.

Nadley, Elisa and Breana Buehler traveled to Fargo Saturday to watch the Bison football game and visit Hunter Buehler. Scott Thompson visited Todd Buehler Saturday afternoon to watch the Bison football game. Nadley, Elisa and Breana visited Beau and Bria Buehler on Sunday.
