Eddy-New Rockford Librarian Susie Sharp has some new tricks up her sleeve, and just in time for Halloween!
"This year I wanted to offer something fun and innovative for all the trick or treaters out there," says Sharp. "By hosting a green screen event, we can really play with stories, costumes and some cool technology."
Green screens used to just be something you'd see in Hollywood special effects. A model or actor could pose in front of a green colored screen and later, in editing, an impressive backdrop would provide a realistic background to the scene. Now thanks to a digital app called Blue Screen It, this trick becomes a treat for everyone!
The library's green screen event will run from 5 to 7 p.m. on Halloween night, Wednesday, Oct. 31 at the Eddy- New Rockford Library. So stop on in! Choose from one of 15 different backgrounds, strike pose at the green screen, and then watch as your photo transforms into a great Halloween treat. Trick or treaters of all ages are welcomed.
"The great thing about this technology is that we can send your finished product right to your email. From there, you can share it on social media or print it out and hang it in your home," says Sharp.
