The New Rockford Rockets varsity football team went undefeated this season, that is until the Saturday, Oct. 27 game. The Rockets had opportunities and played their hearts out, but Thompson defeated them by a final score of 32-28 in the quarterfinal round of the North Dakota 9-man football playoffs.
It was a close and hard fought game with the Tommies capitalizing on a couple of Rocket turnovers to prevail. The Rockets ended their season with a 9-1 record.
The team took the defeat well, knowing they had a great season behind them. This was the final season for seniors Joey Gray, Keegan Anderson, Teddy Allmaras, Tucker Longnecker, Luke Ystaas and Mason Brenno.
Congratulations to the players and coaches Elliott Belquist, Evan Savageau, Tyler Cook and Jordan Brown on a great season!
