With Christmas just six weeks away, the New Rockford Area Chamber of Commerce encourages residents to shop locally this holiday season by sponsoring two popular shopping promotions: the Jolly Jingle Drawings and the Shop Local loan program.
The Jolly Jingle Drawings are back and better than ever, offering more chances to win! The promotion begins today, Nov. 12 and runs through Sunday, Dec. 16. For every purchase of $10 or more made at a participating New Rockford business, the purchaser will receive an entry into the Jolly Jingle Drawing. Simply fill out the slip with your name and phone number and deposit it into that business’s entry box.
Double down during Winterfest
This year, shoppers get double entries all week long during Winterfest, our hometown holiday shopping event. Receive two entries for every purchase of $10 or more at participating businesses from Monday, Nov. 26 to Sunday, Dec. 2. On Saturday, home-based businesses who are Chamber members will compile their entries and do a special drawing for $25 in Chamber bucks.
Sunday, Dec. 2 is the annual Santa Day event, with lunch served by the Close-Up kids, a movie matinee at the Rockford Theatre starting at 12:30 p.m., and carnival and visits with Santa at the Brown Memorial from 2 - 4 p.m.

And if that doesn’t give you enough reason to trim the tree with locally-sourced gifts, the Chamber is introducing its 12 Days of Christmas giveaway. Each day from Monday, Dec. 3 thru Saturday, Dec. 15, one participating business will do a special drawing from its entry box good for $25 in Chamber bucks. That’s $300 more in Chamber bucks you have a chance to win! For more information about the businesses participating and which day they will hold their special drawings, read the Nov. 26 issue of the “New Rockford Transcript.”
All Jolly Jingle entries will be collected on Monday, Dec. 18, and a drawing will be held that day in the lobby of Bank Forward. Twelve $25 and two $100 gift certificates will be given away.
New Rockford merchants participating in the Jolly Jingle Drawing will have bright pink signs displayed in their windows or on their counters and a festive holiday-themed entry box to place your entry blanks!
The Chamber will also sponsor the Shop Local cash loan program. Loans of $300 to $1,500 are available at zero percent interest to qualified applicants. Apply at either Bank Forward or Community Credit Union anytime before Dec. 24; a $10 application fee is required. Borrowers have until Dec. 31, 2018, to make purchases at participating New Rockford businesses using their shop local cash.
Local merchants who accept Shop Local cash will have bright yellow signs denoting their participation.
