Toys, winter clothing and pajamas wanted for children in need
A Holiday Toy Drive sponsored by Student Council, FCCLA, FBLA, SADD, and Sources of Strength is being conducted now through December 5. They are accepting unopened toys for various ages and these donations will stay in the New Rockford-Sheyenne community. Winter clothing and pajamas are also accepted. They ask that you refrain from donating toy weapons of any kind.
To donate, bring the toys to any of the advisors of the organizations listed above through Dec. 5, bring the toys to “Santa Day” at the Brown Memorial on Sunday, or to the first home girl’s basketball game, which will be on Nov. 27. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated.
Donate to CHI St. Alexius Health Carrington on Giving Tuesday
CHI St. Alexius Health Carrington will participate in Giving Tuesday on Nov. 27 to highlight its current fundraising project in Acute Care— the creation of a bariatric suite.
Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, this year’s Giving Tuesday will kick off the giving season by inspiring people to collaborate and give back.
All Giving Tuesday donations received by CHI St. Alexius Health Carrington will contribute to the remaining $20,000 in funds needed to complete the $260,000 bariatric suite project. Currently under construction, the project is expected to be complete this December. The new expanded suite will feature a ceiling lift for staff to safely move patients about for care and therapies— from the bed to a wheelchair, the recliner and bathroom. Patients who are non-weight bearing or of higher weight levels will greatly benefit from the suite’s design and equipment.
Giving Tuesday donations can be made by stopping into Leevers Foods in Carrington during a live radio remote with KDAK from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27; made online at http://www.chistalexiushealth.org/carrington-foundation; or, mailed to the CHI St. Alexius Health Carrington Foundation at PO Box 461, Carrington, ND 58421. The CHI St. Alexius Health Carrington Medical Center Facebook page also features its “#GivingTuesday” event details.
Nicole Threadgold, Foundation Director, stated, “We are incredibly inspired by our generous donors, our talented staff and the wonderful communities we serve each day. Giving Tuesday is a new way of linking individuals and causes to strengthen our communities and help advance rural healthcare in central North Dakota, especially during the holiday season. We encourage everyone to come see us at Leevers Foods and learn about our bariatric suite project.”
