Doris Fornshell, 83, passed away Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018 at Golden Acres Manor in Carrington, N.D. Funeral services were held Nov. 24, 2018, at Federated Church UCC/UMC, Carrington. Rev. Rick Loewen officiated and special music was provided by Jodi Burr and Clara Edwardson. Casket bearers were: Mark Fornshell, Pat Fornshell, Everl Johnson, David Fornshell, Matt Specht and Zach Koenig. Honorary pallbearers included: Jack and Carol Rosenau, Gary and Helen Rosenau, Larry and Sharon Hesch, Kathy and Lisa Weidrich, Shayla Diede and David Schulz, Jada Specht, Amber, Hannah and Hunter Koenig.
Doris Elaine Anderson was born to Oscar and Alyce (Larson) Anderson, Oct. 31, 1935, at Sheyenne, N.D. She was raised at Bremen, N.D., and attended grade school there. She attended high school in New Rockford, where she graduated in 1958.
She worked at the Fireside, where she met Leo Fornshell. They were married at the Augustana Church west of Sheyenne, Oct. 14, 1962. They lived on a beef livestock-grain farm east of Carrington until 2007, when they moved into Carrington.
She had been a 4-H leader for Rose Haven Variety 4-H Club, a member of Everglad Homemakers Club for many years, also members of Federated Church, and active in guild and circle. She was a member of the Tops Chapter for many years. Doris also sold Avon for 40 years until she died.
They have two children, Pam (Jim) Diede, Pingree, N.D. and Terry of Alexander, N.D.; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
She leaves behind a brother, Donald Anderson of New Rockford; a sister, Ada (Frank) DeBolt, Jamestown; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Fornshell and Mary Fornshell; a brother-in-law Tom (Kate) Fornshell, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; her parents; father and mother-in-law, Lee and Edna Fornshell; sister-in-law, Betty Wood and two brothers-in-law, Jim Fornshell and Frank DeBolt.
