Leevers Foods donates on Giving Tuesday

Randy Peterson, on behalf of Carrington's Leevers Foods, recently presented a check for the Bariatric Suite project at CHI St. Alexius Health Carrington in the amount of $162.56. The donation is the result of Leevers offering customers the opportunity to round up their grocery bill on Giving Tuesday in support of the local healthcare project. Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, this year's Giving Tuesday took place on Nov. 27.

The Bariatric Suite project at CHI St. Alexius Health Carrington has less than $20,000 in funds needed to complete the $260,000 project. Currently under construction, the project is expected to be complete this December. The new suite will feature a ceiling lift for staff to safely move patients about the expanded room for care and therapies - from the bed to a wheelchair, the recliner and bathroom. Patients of higher weight levels or who are non-weight bearing will greatly benefit from the suite's design and equipment, helping provide the best in patient care, close to home.
