Tom, Pam and Jakob Schmid and Jakob’s friend, Alison Widmer, were in Las Vegas to attend the rodeo last weekend.
Betty Rushfeldt reported that the Oberon School Christmas program was held on Thursday evening. Cider and cookies were served following the program.
Tilford Broten visited Lester Roberts on Tuesday. Bobbi Duberowski of Parkers Prairie, Minn., spent Thursday through Saturday with Lester. Saturday, Lester went to Grand Forks with Lezlee Thorson and Bob Hoffart. They enjoyed lunch with Peggy Kindem. Following lunch, they visited Lezlee’s son, Ryan and his wife Megan and grandson, Aiden. Roger Roberts and Chad Getscher were Sunday visitors at Lester’s.
Tom Lang of Minnewaukan visited James Nelson on Saturday. Sunday, James’ visitors were Holly Zieman and Patti Clifton and Jarvis and Patty Hegland.
Doris Griffin was a bell ringer for the Salvation Army on Tuesday. Any money donated in the Salvation Army kettles stays in the county where the kettles are located. Doris was a volunteer at the Sully’s Hill store this weekend. The store will be closed now until it is time for snowshoeing in January.
Saturday, Jake and Amanda Hegland traveled to Fargo to attend the NDSU Bison football game. Fallyn and Piper had a slumber party with grandparents, Jarvis and Patty. Sunday, Fallyn and Piper participated in the SOAM Christmas program at First Lutheran Church in Sheyenne.
Kinley Poulsen was a brief visitor at Dave and Linda Madson’s on Saturday. Tuesday evening, Dave and Linda celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary with supper at The View. They were joined by Melodie Madson, Carrie Madson and Paul Prince. Linda accompanied Melodie to the Our Savior’s Children’s Christmas program Wednesday evening. Kennedee and McKenzee participated in the program. Thursday evening, Linda went with Melodie to watch Kennedee and McKenzee at TaeKwonDo. Following TaeKwonDo, they went to Applebee’s for supper. A percentage of the bill was donated to the Lake Region Skating Club to help with competition expenses. Joining them were Kinley Poulsen and Michael and Amy Jacobson.
Jarvis and Patty Hegland were in Horace for Emma and Rosa Zietz’ Christmas program at Horace Lutheran Church last Sunday. Following the program, the Heglands were among the supper guests at the Mike and Jill Zietz home. Fallyn and Piper Hegland entertained their grandpa and grandma Friday and Saturday. Amanda and Jake were in Fargo for errands and the NDSU Bison football game. Jarvis and Patty took in the SOAM Christmas program and potluck Sunday morning at First Lutheran in Sheyenne. Piper and Fallyn were among participants in the program. Afterwards, a bit of Christmas shopping was done followed by visits with James Nelson and Carmen Paulson.
