New Years was one of those few times of the year that as children, we got to have a Coke— and that made it a party! In our eyes, our New Year’s Eve parties were just as fun as Christmas, but the celebrations were very different. The Christmas celebration was a more quiet, worshipful celebration. New Year’s celebration was just to have fun. They were game nights, with contests and competitions.
