Visitors enjoy hot cocoa served in the new warming cabin on the Carr farmstead.
These visitors from Minnesota warmed up at one of several fire pits next to the cabin. The Carrs served 50 gallons of hot chocolate, 53 dozen cookies and eight dozen cupcakes to those attending the three weekends.
Inside one of the heated shop areas, kids had the opportunity to participate in a variety of games and a chance to warm up while coloring. Note the wall, featuring some of the many designs kids made with colors.
The rural farmstead of Tom and Dusty Carr east of Carrington played host to Christmas fun for three weekends in December ending Saturday, Dec. 22. The new warming cabin served hot chocolate and goodies to many of the over 700 adults and children who visited the fun spot during the weekends. Over 21,000 lights adorned the farmstead, all viewed by those who took the hayrides around the brightly decorated area. One hundred and sixty-four parents and children attended the event on the final night, Dec. 22. Proceeds (free will) were distributed with gifts and clothing to 42 kids, monetary gifts to four area families and snowpants and gloves to the Carrington Elementary School.
