The New Rockford-Sheyenne School Board election will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2019. Polls will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the New Rockford-Sheyenne gymnasium lobby.
Three terms expire this year. Candidacy for each position is determined by residency within geographic areas of the district. Eligible voters of the school district may vote for each position.
Positions currently held by Todd Duchscherer and Mike Jacobson will be elected from the former New Rockford District, and the position currently held by Alyson Myhre will be elected at-large, from anywhere in the District.
The at-large position held by Myhre and one of the former New Rockford District position held by Duchscherer, will be for three-year terms. The other former New Rockford District position, held by Jacobson, will be for a one-year term.
Potential candidates for these positions must submit a “Statement of Intent to Run for School Board” and a “Statement of Interests” by Monday, April 1, 2019, at 4 p.m. Candidacy forms are available from business manager Janet Heskin at the New Rockford-Sheyenne Public School in New Rockford.
Holdover members of the board are John Grann, Mary Kay Price, Patti Jo Larson and David Holzwarth.
Also on the ballot will be the question of whether to publish a record of the proceedings of the school board in the official newspaper for the succeeding two years.
