Official Newspaper of Eddy County since 1883
The face of the newly appointed Eddy County Road Superintendent is hardly a new one to Eddy County residents. New Rockford native, Todd Weber has stepped in to assume responsibility for the Eddy County road department. Weber officially began his new role on March 11, and Mother Nature promptly welcomed him with a spring storm and several inches of new snow on March 15. This gave Weber the opportunity to get out on a blade and to get to know some of the more distant Eddy County roads. He said that getting in on the last storm of the season will help him as he plans for next winter.
Weber has spent most of his career building and maintaining roads. He previously held a position with Harvey Sand and Gravel, where his work with roadways involved operation of heavy equipment and supervising of the quality of final road projects. The Lake Washington road project completed this past fall was one of the jobs he oversaw while working with Harvey Sand and Gravel. Weber also has experience working with highway and canal construction, andlooks forward to doing the best job to improve the road infrastructure by utilizing staff and equipment wisely.
While he always enjoyed the work and the people at Harvey Sand and Gravel, Weber said he and his family didn’t always love the time he spent living on the road. He added that he and his wife, Lori, are already enjoying the extra time that he has been at home. Although they have never complained, Weber says his family has carried much of the farm work over the years and that’s something that he looks forward to changing in the future.
