Neola Jean (Georgeson) Richter, 87, passed away Monday, April 22, 2019, at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford.
Neola was born to Arthur "Art" Georgeson and Myrtle (Thompson) Georgeson at home in Munster Township on Oct. 12, 1931. Neola attended a country school through the eighth grade, then she moved into New Rockford where she graduated from New Rockford High School in May of 1950. On Oct. 1, 1950, Neola married the love of her life, Charles A. Richter, at the United Methodist Church in New Rockford.
God gave Neola an organizational talent which she willingly used for many years not only in her church but also in the community as well. At the United Methodist Church, Neola taught Bible School, served on the Education Committee, was on the Trustee Committee multiple times, served as President of the United Methodist Women for four 2-year terms, chaired many fundraising committees and sang in the choir for 40 years. Neola also was involved in the PTA, served in many capacities in Band Mothers, belonged to Eastern Star, served as Mother Advisor to the Rainbow Girls for 12 years, belonged to the Legion Auxiliary and served on the Dollars for Scholars Committee.
Neola is survived by her husband; her seven children, Connie Richter, West Fargo, Orlan (Peggy) Richter, Bismarck, Carter (Mary) Richter, New Rockford, Lori (Rod) Bachmeier, West Fargo, Jani (Jim) Seifert, Bismarck, Stuart (Vicky) Richter, New Rockford and Wendi (Bruce) Dean, Jamestown; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; one brother Quentin (Delores) Georgeson, New Rockford; two sisters-in-law Lois Laber, Enderlin, and Ruth (Neil) Barkus, Jamestown; and many nieces and nephews.
Neola was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, infant Alta Ramona Georgeson and Maxine Michaels; four brothers, Harley Georgeson, Gary Georgeson, A. Dean Georgeson and Aldon Georgeson.
