On April 22 New Rockford-Sheyenne hosted its first high school golf meet for many years. There were eight teams, including NR-S, from Region 2 competing in the golf meet. The total number of golfers competing from the eight schools numbered 44. It was a great day weather-wise for the boys and they thoroughly enjoyed it. Most of the boys haven't been outside golfing this year because of the inclement weather we have had in our Region 2 towns. Kindred, last year's state team champ, was the winning team. Other teams competing were Carrington, Central Cass, Hillsboro-Central Valley, Mayville Portland CG, Northern Cass and Oak Grove. Medalist with a great score of 68 was Mark Olson from Kindred. Ben Schaefer from NR-S shot a team best score of 81. All in all, the kids and coaches had a great time.
I want to thank all who helped make this a great day for the kids, our golf course and for our school.
