Bill A. Kreft, 75, of New Rockford, died Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, New Rockford, N.D. The funeral service was held May 10 at Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford, with burial at Prairie Home Cemetery. Rev. Doug Nemitz officiated. Military honors were by Raymond B. Thorn American Legion, Post #30, New Rockford and Air Force Honor Guard Team. Casket bearers were Mike Pesce, Dan Kreft, Brent Pesce, Jayden Lindenberg, Jim Pesce and Jordan Pesce.
Bill Kreft was born July 5, 1943, in Alexandria, Minn., the son of Joseph Kreft and Mary (Kolybaba) Kreft. He grew up in Enderlin and Fargo and graduated from Enderlin High School in 1961. He entered the United States Air Force in 1961 and served until 1965. Bill was united in marriage to Louise McNamara on Sept. 14, 1963, at Olivet Lutheran Church in Fargo. They lived in Fargo (where he worked for Ames Sand and Gravel) and Rosemont, Minn., prior to moving to Antioch, Calif. While in Antioch, Bill was employed by Antioch Building Materials as a dispatcher.
He is survived by his one son, Dan (Wendy) Kreft, Bismarck, N.D.; one daughter, Kellie, New Rockford; two grandchildren; two brothers, Joe Kreft of Hebrew Spring, Ark., and Jim (Karen) Kreft of Shawnee, Ok.; three nieces and two nephews.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Louise.
