A bench warrant has been issued for David R. Guy of Devils Lake. He was arrested on December 12, 2018 and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He pleaded not guilty to both charges in court on Feb. 14. He was scheduled for a pre-trial conference on May 9; however, failed to appear, prompting a warrant.
Warrants have also been issued for Reed Myers of Crookston, Minn. and Jo Beth Eagle of Bismarck for failure to comply with orders of the court. Donald L. Abell of New Rockford faces a driving under suspension charge. According to the criminal complaint, Abell was initially stopped for speeding on March 31. He failed to produce a current driver’s license or liability insurance. He pleaded not guilty to the driving under suspension charge on May 9 and is due in court for a pre-trial conference on July 11.
Richard Hucke Sr. of New Rockford was arrested Aug. 23, 2018 for possession with intent to manufacture or deliver marijuana, a Class B Felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class A Misdemeanor, after a search of his residence. He reached a plea agreement in February and was sentenced to one year in prison, all suspended for 360 days of probation. He was also ordered to pay $1,050 in fines and fees and complete 20 hours of community service. Authorities say he only completed four hours of his community service. He is scheduled to appear for a revocation of probation hearing on June 20.
Dawson Dubois of Fort Totten was sentenced for driving under suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia. The charges date back to April 2018 when he was arrested after a routine traffic stop. Two warrants and one year later, Dubois pleaded guilty to the charges on May 9. Judge Hovey sentenced him to 10 days in jail, with credit for 5 days served. The remaining days were suspended. Dubois was ordered to pay $525 in fines and fees and complete 360 days of unsupervised probation.
Jessica L. Fitch of Climax, Minn. and Sarah A. Follette of Crookston, Minn. were both sentenced after an incident in which Game & Fish enforcement caught them fishing at Warsing Dam without a license. After a subsequent search of the vehicle by Eddy County authorities, Fitch was cited for fishing without a license, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia (marijuana) and possession of marijuana. She entered a written guilty plea, and Judge Hovey ordered her to pay $375 in fines and fees. A two-day jail sentence was suspended. Follette was also charged with possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia (marijuana).
Sheila Robertson of Devils Lake was sentenced to 5 days in jail for driving under suspension. She was cited during a traffic stop on March 31 after the deputy observed her swerving into the oncoming (or left) lane, and she pleaded guilty to the charge on may 9. This is her fifth driving under suspension offense in the past seven years. Hovey also ordered her to pay $725 in fines and fees and serve 360 days of unsupervised probation.
