Academic Success Four sixth graders earned the President's Education Award for outstanding academic achievement. Walking Club This year 142 students participated, in the NR-S Walking Club, trekking nearly 1.5 million steps, or 654 miles. Dylan Cudworth (left) recorded the most steps, a total of 52,496. That's more than 23 miles! Second place walker was Elise Guler (middle), as she walked 49,797 steps. Kenslie Engels (right) was not far behind, as she earned third place for her 49,603 steps.

Music Dedication Awards Four band students received awards from music instructor Annette Hovey in recognition for their minutes practiced. Back row, from left to right: fifth grader Ava Peterson clocked 1,870 minutes practiced. Logan Cudworth, also fifth grade, practiced for 1,645 minutes. Sixth grader Bailey Jacobson earned first place in her class by practicing for at least 1,000 hours. Choir students, Paige Knatternud and Kacey Weisenburger received perfect attendance awards for morning practice.

Keep North Dakota Clean The Keep North Dakota Clean poster contest winners in each grade level received certificates and trees to plant courtesy of the Eddy County Soil Conservation District.
