Allmaras, Belquist selected to All-State on diamond

They gained most of their notoriety on the football field, and led the NR-S Rockets to a state basketball appearance this winter.

This spring, Teddy Allmaras and Bo Belquist proved that their game-changing abilities extended to the baseball diamond as well.

Allmaras, a senior for the SNR Black Sox, was named to the Class B First Team All-State squad, and Belquist, a junior, was honored with a Second Team award as part of statewide selections announced on June 2.

In his previous athletic exploits, Allmaras was the Nine-Man Region 2 Senior Athlete of the Year in football and the Region 4 Senior Athlete in boys' basketball.

Along with the Black Sox's two nominees, Region 3 rival Carrington had one player each on both All-State teams, with First Team honors going to pitcher/shortstop Kyle Leapaldt and catcher/pitcher/infielder Lucas Geiszler on the Second Team.
