Correction issued on triple jump school record

As much as it’s tempting to drive the narrative that Bo Belquist would break his own uncle’s school record in the triple jump, it turns out that assertion was pure fantasy.

In articles published in the “Transcript” over a period of several weeks, Alex Belquist’s 2004 mark of 43’7”, which has since been surpassed by his nephew during both the regular track season and on Bo’s state title-clinching 45’ 6 1/2” leap in late May, has now been revealed to be incorrectly reported as NR-S’ top historical effort.

The past New Rockford school record actually belonged to Brian Haley, who had a jump of 43’11” in 1995.

The “Transcript” regrets the error.
