*June 21 – 23: Devils Lake, Grahams Island State Park.
Fishing:
*Devils Lake elevation, June 11: 1,449.03 feet above mean sea level (MSL).
*Stump Lake elevation: 1,449.04 MSL.
*Lake Sakakawea elevation: 1,849.91 MSL; 20,800 cubic feet per second average (CFS) Garrison Dam daily releases.
*N.D. Game and Fish Dept. Dist. game wardens: East end of Lake Sakakawea still somewhat slow for walleye. Devils Lake good for white bass with a lot of anglers along Highway 19, Channel A, and County Road 4. Walleye somewhat spotty yet. Goose Lake kicking out some walleye but not many reports from other area lakes.
*Devils Lake, Ed’s Bait Shop, Devils Lake: Most activity remains west for walleye. Try Howard’s Bay or the chain of smaller lakes north. Continued activity in the evening along the bridges. Try slip bobbers with nightcrawlers or leeches. Good white bass success using minnows.
*Devils Lake, Lakeview Lodge, Minnewaukan: Improving walleye success with more stable weather. Continue working shallow water with spring-like conditions yet. Look for a transition to summer techniques soon. Pike success remains good.
*Devils Lake, West Bay Resort, Minnewaukan: Continue working bridges and shallow, warm water for walleye.
*Devils Lake, Woodland Resort, Devils Lake: Fair to good for walleye. Try slip bobbers or spinners and leeches in shallow water less than 10 feet. Work deeper with spinners. Try Pelican Lake or Howard’s and New Mil bays.
*Foster County area lakes, Dry Dock, Carrington: Generally fair walleye success throughout most area lakes.
*Jamestown Reservoir, Pioneer Bait and Tackle, Jamestown: Smaller area lakes around Woodworth and north of Jamestown good for walleye. Not many reports from Jamestown Reservoir. So-so success on Lake Ashtabula.
*Jamestown Reservoir, Sooper Stop, Jamestown: Improving walleye success throughout many small area lakes, as well as Jamestown Reservoir with more stable weather. Lake Ashtabula also fair to good for a variety of species.
*Lake Ashtabula, Ashtabula Crossing, Luverne: Overall improving success for a mix of walleye and pike.
*Lake Ashtabula, Bayshore, Valley City: Overall fair to good success for a mix of species with warmer, stable water and air temperatures generally improving success.
*Lake Sakakawea, Cenex Bait & Tackle, Garrison: Improving walleye activity on the east end of Lake Sakakawea. Try back bays and the mouth of bays in 3 to 15 feet using a variety of presentations as it transitions into a typical summer bite. Lake Audubon remains fair for walleye along with some nice-sized bass Water temperatures warmer than on the east end of Sakakawea. Remember to release any muskie taken from Lake Audubon. No Missouri River reports.
*Lake Sakakawea, Indian Hills Resort, Garrison: Walleye starting to move eastward with improving success around Deepwater and Parshall bays. Look for better success closer to Indian Hills as water temperatures continue to warm. Try minnows and nightcrawlers with some success now coming on leeches.
*Lake Sakakawea/Lake Audubon/Missouri River, Scott’s Bait and Tackle, Pick City: Missouri River producing some walleye activity during the day in the spillway channel. Try jigs or pulling crankbaits. Look for better success in the chutes with higher releases. Try casting crankbaits in the morning or evening for walleye from the rocks. Not much activity in the wing walls or down river. Try pitching jigs up shallow with nightcrawlers or plastics along the north shore of Lake Sakakawea on the east end. Also try slow death hooks. Continued pike success casting crankbaits from shore.
*Lonetree WMA area lakes, Harvey: In general, small area lakes including Goose, Clear, Richard, and Hinsz lakes, improving for walleye with nice success.
*Pipestem Reservoir, Pioneer Bait and Tackle, Jamestown: Little activity.
*Pipestem Reservoir, Sooper Stop, Jamestown: Not many reports.
*Spiritwood Lake, Pioneer Bait and Tackle, Jamestown: Not many reports.
*Spiritwood Lake, Sooper Stop, Jamestown: No new reports.
N.D. rivers:
*James River, Kensal: River stage, 2.48 feet; streamflow, 14 CFS.
*Pembina River, Walhalla: River stage, 2.38 feet; streamflow, 137 CFS.
*Red River, Grand Forks, River stage, 19.08 feet; streamflow, 7,970 CFS.
*Sheyenne River, Warwick: River stage, 3.56 feet; streamflow, 157 CFS.
