On Sunday, June 2 the Carrington- New Rockford Lions Club held the second annual Diabetes Walk-a-Thon in New Rockford and raised $2,000 for the purchase of a professional continuous glucose monitor by CHI St. Alexis Carrington. This system will enable patients to monitor their blood sugar 24 hours a day for a week at a time, helping providers make treatment decisions. The system's use is covered by Medicare and most other insurance companies.
Also this summer season, Lions Club purchased and installed new picnic tables and benches for seating around the gazebo at Centential Park in downtown New Rockford. They encourage visitors and residents to enjoy these new fixtures in the community.
