NRABC Small Business Spotlight: Campers welcome at Schuster RV Park: NRABC business spotlight

John and Jean Schuster love the outdoors, so it was natural for them to invest in a business revolving around outdoor life. Jean is a licensed abstractor at Surety Title and John is a custom applicator at CenDak Co-op. John and Jean have four children, Haley, Ashley, Mason, and Mathew. In 2014, Schuster’s bought the former “Mobile Home Park,” converting it to an RV park, naming it Schuster RV Park, LLC.

The RV Park is known for the comfort and amenities that are necessary for travelers who need a place to call home, whether that be temporary or full time. RVs could live in Schuster’s park full time although they have limited resources in the winter. Campers and RV’s do need to be fully contained because there are no bathrooms on the ground. The park is licensed to hold upto 35 tenants and includes brand new electric and water services as well as wifi access.

Jean and John have the unique opportunity to connect with their tenants, especially those simply traveling through. The Schuster’s have met and been able to house people from all over the world, literally. Places such as Texas, New York, Canada, Nova Scotia, North Carolina and Europe. They have even had pilots from Argentina!

One might ask, how do they find themselves in small-town New Rockford? The Schusters say that people are often brought to the area as they follow their genealogy. One nice family found themselves in New Rockford when searching

for a small town to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The Schusters were able to really connect with this family and guide them in experiencing the joy of small-town life. Schuster says, “We get amazing, good people who stay here.” Not only do the Schusters get to build relationships with tourists. but also with those who call New Rockford home for an extended time. The park does include several construction residents. For these reasons, Schuster RV Park offers a wide variety of rates, including daily, weekly, and monthly rates. The Schusters are also members of several organizations, one being Passport America. Passport America offers opportunities to stay at the park for two-nights at half price. They are also members of the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds and RV America.

Overall, Schuster RV Park is a perfect home away from home. Not only is it a well-kept and updated campground, but it also provides a superb community, especially with John and Jean themselves.

Schuster RV Park is conveniently located across the street from the Schuster’s home on the northwest edge of town. To make reservations at Schuster RV Park, LLC, John and Jean can be contacted by telephone or email. Additional

information and photos of the grounds are available on their website, https://schusterrvpark.com/.
