Last week: Thursday, Linda Madson watched Kennedee and McKenzee Madson do their swimming tests at the Devils Lake pool following their week of lessons. Thursday evening, Linda joined Melodie Madson for supper and program at the college campus. Kennedee and McKenzee participated in the College for Kids and were part of the program. Shawn and Cathy Caulfield of Jamestown were overnight guests at Melodie’s home Saturday. Dave and Linda joined the group for afternoon coffee and supper at Melodie’s. Sunday morning coffee and brunch was also enjoyed by the Caulfield’s and Dave and Linda at Melodie’s home.
Saturday, Lester Roberts joined his siblings, Jean Olson, June Sabbe, Delores Stack, Marlene Miller and her son, Scott, Misti Sabbe and Roger Roberts in Rugby for food and visiting.
Howard and Helen Schmid attended the church service and potluck following the service at Warsing Dam in Sheyenne Sunday.
This week: Lester Roberts took in the parade and barbeque in Sheyenne on July 4. Later, he visited Lezlee Thorson and Bob Hoffart at their campsite at Bayview Campground. Later that day, Lester, accompanied by Les and Janice Ferry. Went to Stump Lake and enjoyed the music by Kathy Erickson Band. Friday, Lester kept a medical appointment in Devils Lake. Saturday, Lester enjoyed a fish fry at Lezlee and Bob’s campsite. Lester visited James nelson Sunday evening.
Howard and Helen Schmid drove their vintage truck in the Fourth of July parade in Sheyenne. They took in the barbecue meal following the parade. July 6, the Schmid’s attended the parade and meal in Maddock at their celebration. They also drove their truck in the Maddock parade. Joe Schmid of Fargo spent the July 4 holiday with his parents.
James Nelson kept a medical appointment in Grand Forks one day this week. James was in Oberon with David and Bonnie Nelson on July 4.
Doris Griffin went to Sheyenne on the Fourth of July to watch the parade and attend the barbecue.
Linda and Dave Madson accompanied Melodie, Kennedee and McKenzee to Grand Forks on Tuesday. Melodie, Kennedee and Linda all kept medical appointments. On July 4, Melodie, Kennedee, McKenzee and Linda enjoyed the Devils Lake parade. Kennedee and McKenzee went to their Grandma and Grandpa Mertens home after lunch to spend the night. Melodie and Linda sat on Melodie’s deck and enjoyed the neighborhood fireworks that evening. Melodie, Kennedee and McKenzee and Linda watched an awesome fireworks display at Haybale Heights campground Saturday as guests of Dennis and Julie Mertens. Carrie Madson and Paul Prince were Sunday afternoon visitors at Dave and Linda’s home and also at Melodie’s.
John, Donna, Lacey and Johnny Grann had supper at the Rosendahl/Tweten farm. At dark, local campers provided an awesome fireworks display. Saturday, fun was had by the Grann family in Sheyenne at the rodeo. Some competed and some were spectators. Sunday supper guests at John and Donna Grann’s family were Evan Swenson and Gene Woolley.
