Meet the DPRCA Cast of Oklahoma!

DPRCA's five-week run of Oklahoma! began Wednesday. One of the many things patrons can look forward to with this production is meeting new faces. Three University of North Dakota theatre students playing supporting roles open the series. Then, over the next three weeks, come back to this newspaper to meet the rest of the new faces and refamiliarize yourself with some of the regulars!

East Grand Forks native Veronica Lee Folkedahl plays Aunt Eller. This fall, Veronica will enter her final year at the University of North Dakota, on track to achieve her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre Performance. She grew up in East Grand Forks, Minn., where she first found her love for theatre in the Summer STAGES Youth Theatre program. In her senior year of high school, she made her way to Minneapolis to study theatre at the Perpich Center for Arts Education, which solidified her decision to pursue performing as a career.

Some of Veronica's favorite past roles include Sandra (Big Fish), #11 (The Wolves), Mayzie (Seussical) and Ursula (Much Ado About Nothing). Veronica acknowledged her creative mentors Barbara Morin, Bonnie Bottoms, and Matthew and Stephanie Faatz-Murry, without whom she would not be the performer she is today.

Beyond theatre, Veronica has many passions in life. Notably, she is currently acting as Social Media Organizer/Captain of the UND Chapter of It's On Us, an organization working to prevent sexual violence on college campuses. Her other passions are coffee, makeup and children. For more info, visit her website at http://www.veronicaleefolkedahl.com.

The role of Cordelia Elam is played by Taylor Jung, who was born and raised in the Bismarck-Mandan area. She recently graduated from UND with her BFA in Musical Theatre and is excited to work with DPRCA.

Taylor's love for theatre started when she saw a production of Oklahoma! when she was 11 years old – and it's been her favorite show ever since!

She's been on stage in Shrek the Musical, Cabaret, Steel Magnolias, Peter and the Starcatcher and another Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, Cinderella.

Taylor has big plans in the Big Apple, as a big move to New York is on the docket for her next year. For more information on Taylor, you can check out her website taylorjung.com.

The third actor DPRCA gleaned from UND is Dylan Merritt. He is currently a freshman at UND studying Musical Theatre Acting.

Dylan plays Fred in Oklahoma!, and he says he couldn't be more excited to work with everyone and create new memories!
