Letter to the editor- July 15, 2019

I wanted to say 'Thank You' to all the people of New Rockford, they helped organize all of the events for the Fourth of July this year. I helped run the steam tractor in the parade. I also brought along my daughter and girlfriend to attend the celebration.

I was truly amazed at how much was going on. Usually in Bowman county where I live they have a fireworks display at the dam and that’s the extent of it. This year for several reasons they were having no fireworks. I was dismayed and looked on City of New Rockford website and found the list of events. My decision was quick to say “We’re going to Eddy County.”

I am also working on some things at the house that was my grandmother’s and more recently my uncle Bill Aslakson who passed last year. My mother and I are keeping the house for now and plan to do updates and repairs. I’ve have already been spending quite a bit of time on the weekends up there.

Once again thanks to all that worked hard to make the 7/4/2019 memorable for us.
