2019 Eddy County 4-H Achievement Days

Each 4-H'er received a green 5-gallon bucket courtesy of Runnings. Eddy County 4-H'ers who exhibited livestock and static exhibits all gathered for a photo before the premium sale. "Moo-ove on over" The Grand Champion in the category for Beef Showmanship Junior was Joie Helseth. Helseth was also named Grand Champion for Beef Breeding. Reserve Champion in the same category went to Charles Jorgenson. Mason Schuster carries the title of Grand Champion for both Beef Marketing and Beef Showmanship Senior.

"The pig whisperer" Rebekah Widmer was named the Grand Champion in three categories: Swine marketing, swine breeding, and swine showmanship.

"The shear joy of it" Joie Helseth was the Grand Champion for in the sheep breeding exhibit. Keegan Anderson was named Grand Champion for sheep showmanship. Nicholas Berglund was the Reserve Champion in this category. The Grand Champion for the Sheep Marketing category was Gretchen Berglund.

"It's chow time" The 4-H'ers worked up an appetite, and no one wasted any time getting in line for supper at 5:30 pm. Grilled burgers and hot dogs were on the menu.

"All things grow with love" Maria Becker was the Grand Champion for Horticulture. Claire Becker (pictured below) was named Reserve Champion in the same category for her miniature garden. Honorable mentions in horticulture included Beth Becker, Christopher Becker, Tillie Swart and Hannah Wobbema.

Eddy County Extension Agent Donna Anderson pets Tillie Swart's rabbit while talking about the rabbit showmanship program she plans to implement in Eddy County.

"Poultry People" Brothers Mason and Mathew Schuster had a lot to cockadoodle-doo for the poultry exhibit. Mason was named Grand Champion, and Mathew Reserve Champion. In Poultry Showmanship, Mathew was the one to carry the title of Grand Champion, while his older brother was Reserve Champion.

"Candid Cloverbuds"  Cloverbuds Neecie Swart and Cade Helseth stand proud with their projects. Each received participation ribbons and were able to bring one item through the premium sale.
