Official Newspaper of Eddy County since 1883
This is your chance to engage in making North Dakota’s history!
Each year the North Dakota State Library partners with Digital Initiatives to bring scanning equipment to rural communities.
As a result, residents will have the opportunity to digitize historical photographs, documents and objects. Just bring in documents, photos, objects, etc. to be converted into digital files and then displayed online on Digital Horizons.
The Eddy-New Rockford Library is hosting Scan Day on Friday, Aug. 2 from 1 - 5 p.m.
Interested participants will need to reserve a 30-minute time slot with the Eddy-New Rockford Library. Each participant may bring 10-15 items. Items can include photographs, letters, certificates, journals, artwork, artifacts, memorabilia, scrapbooks, etc.
Items of all shapes and sizes are encouraged, but it is preferred that items have a North Dakota connection.
As a general rule, do not bring anything to Scan Day that you would not be comfortable having displayed online.
During the time slots, Scan Day staff will work with participants to digitize the items and record the descriptive information.
The original items are then returned to the participants. Flash drives with digital copies of the items are given to each participant.
Please contact Librarian Susie Sharp to reserve your time slot.
