Oberon Oracles: July 29, 2019

Last Tuesday evening, Jake, Amanda, Fallyn and Piper Hegland met Amanda’s parents, Terry and Nancy Weischedel, in Edgeley. Fallyn and Piper went home with Grandpa and Grandma to Gettysburg. South Dakota to spend the week. Thursday, July 11, Amanda helped with and took in the Summer Street Market in New Rockford. Amanda went to Gettysburg on Saturday and Sunday, Amanda, Fallyn and Piper returned home.

Pam Schmid visited her dad, Bud Hermanson, in Hampden on Sunday.

Lester Roberts, Les and Janice Ferry, Lezlee Thorson and Laurie Westby enjoyed supper at the Spirit Lake Casino Monday evening. Lester took in Arts in the Park in Devils Lake Tuesday evening. Country Cousins were the entertainment and root beer floats or ice cream cones were also available. Keith and Nancy Tweten of Grand Island, Neb., and James Nelson visited Lester on Wednesday. Lester enjoyed visiting with friends at the Eventide picnic Thursday. Roger, Lester’s brother, visited him on Saturday. On Sunday, Lester visited his daughter, Lezlee at her campsite at Bayview Campground. He also visited James Nelson Sunday evening.

Monday morning, Dave Madson kept a medical appointment at the Devils Lake VA clinic. Tuesday evening, Dave and Linda enjoyed the music at Arts in the Park. Dave and Linda kept medical appointments in Devils Lake on Thursday afternoon. Friday evening, Melodie Madson was a supper guest at Dave and Linda’s home Saturday. Dave, Linda, Michael Jacobson and Mr. Syl Brown were coffee and supper guests at Melodie’s home. Carrie Madson and Paul Prince were afternoon visitors at the Madson’s. Craig and Sandy Poulsen and Dave and Linda were coffee and supper guests at Melodie’s. Dave and Craig helped Melodie with a fence project.

Keith and Nancy Tweten spent some time this week in the Oberon and Devils Lake area and spent time with Nancy’s dad, James Nelson. Lester Roberts visited James Sunday evening.

Doris Griffin is taking a carving class and the first session was Saturday. The class is learning to carve a Norwegian Ale bowl. It sounds like a sort of difficult project to a non-carver.

Wednesday, Jake, Amanda, Fallyn and Piper Hegland went to Fargo for Piper’s medical appointments.

Thursday through Sunday, the Hegland’s traveled to Spearfish Canyon in South Dakota to stay with Amanda’s family. While there they visited Roughlock Falls, took in Arts in the Park, Mt. Rushmore and Bear Country.

There will be a bridal shower for Elisa and Breana Buehler at Calvary Church in Oberon on Aug. 17 at 2 p.m. Please mark your calendars for this event.
