Dogs were the sure favorite at the 4th Corporation Self Advocacy Club's 3rd Annual Pet Show on Friday, July 19.
This year's 13 entries included dogs, cats, chickens, a goat and rabbit.
Self Advocacy Club President Jason Ehni welcomed everyone to the Pet Show, and the crowd enjoyed watching all the pets show off their tricks and best behaviors. The audience then voted for their favorites. Refreshments were served and prizes were awarded in four categories.
In the dog category, Wilbur -a French Bulldog belonging to Jared Hartl, was named 'Cutest.' A Golden Retriever named Winnie, who belongs to Lucy Meier, earned 'Best Hair' with her silky coat. Winnie was also awarded the title of 'longest ears.' Jemma, a Maltese Shitzu owned by Chris Schmid, wowed the audience and earned the title for 'Best Trick.' Tuff, a Red Heeler belonging to Kelsey Yanish, took 'Best of Show' in the dog category.
When it comes to cats, there were two that dominated the competition. Smoke, a Savannah breed belonging to Leslie Dockter and Dustin Guthmiller, won the category for 'Cutest' and 'Most Unique.' Olivia Larson's American Longhair was voted in for 'Best Hair' and 'Best of Show."
Jessica Hawkes brought two animals from her homestead. Vincent van Goat the Pygmy Goat was voted the 'Cutest' and 'Best of Show.' Hei Hei the Dutch Bantam Chicken was named 'Most Unique.'
In the 'overall' category, audience members had to weigh in on the competition. Winnie won the prize of 'Looks most like the owner.' Flash the rabbit, owned by William and Hailee Morrison, was named 'Best Behaved.' Wilbur took the title of 'Best Dressed.'
Jemma, Maltese Shitzu belonging to Chris Schmid was named Grand Champion.
