We end the series by featuring New Rockford natives who have grown up with DPRCA programming and have landed roles in "Oklahoma!" The future of local theatre is bright with these young stars on stage!
Jared Hartl takes on the role of Ike Skidmore in this production. Jared is certainly no stranger to the stage, as he has performed as one of two piano players in "It's a Wonderful Life" and sung and acted in "Broadway Unbound" and "Forever Plaid", all for the DPRCA. Jared is now a sophomore at NDSU, where he is majoring in Instrumental Music Education, specializing in low brass like Tuba, Euphonium and Bass Trombone. Jared is the son of Tom and Dawn Hartl, and brother to Tessa and the family dog, Wilbur.
Playing Ado Annie, this is Tessa Hartl's seventh show with the company. You may recognize her from "Cloak & Dagger" or "Godspell", among others. Her all-time favorite role was the Wicked Witch of the West/Miss Almira Gulch in "The Wizard of Oz", which she'd love to reprise someday. Tessa is pursuing a degree in vocal performance at NDSU under the guidance of Dr. Mariane Lemieux-Wottrich and hopes to make performing her full-time career (but she's considering studying mortuary science as a security blanket). Beyond singing and acting, she enjoys playing polkas on her accordion alongside her tuba-prodigy-of-a-brother, Jared. Their services are available for weddings, funerals and children's birthday parties.
Micah Nicolai, who plays Ali Hakim, just finished his first year of college at NDSU, where he has been enjoying studying Vocal Music Performance and connecting with other like-minded artists. He will also soon begin to pursue a minor in Theatre Arts in the upcoming fall semester. Micah has performed in several shows at the DPRCA, including The Wizard of Oz and Forever Plaid. This year at NDSU, he also performed in his first opera, Gilbert and Sullivan's Patience. Micah is the son of Dr. Mike and Cheri Nicolai.
Hallie Brown plays Penelope Williams. She first discovered her love for theatre when she started acting in the Opera House Youth Actors (OHYA) kids' camps at age 6. This is her third major production with the DPRCA, as she debuted with The Wizard of Oz and then sang in Broadway Unbound before her casting in Oklahoma! Hallie will be a freshman at New Rockford-Sheyenne School in the fall, where she will continue her love of music in band and choir. She is the daughter of Kent and Sheila Brown.
Logan Munson takes the DPRCA stage for the first time this summer as Slim. This certainly isn't his first run, however, as he performed on stage in One-Act Play competitions during high school. He is the son of Justin and Tiffany Munson. A 2019 graduate of NR-S, he heads off to college this fall to pursue his studies in political science at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
With only five performances remaining, availability is limited. To snag your seats, call (701) 947-2174 or go online to http://www.dprca.com.
