NDDOT to offer online bidding at upcoming vehicle auctions

The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) will be holding five State Fleet Auctions this fall in Bismarck and Fargo. All of these auctions will include live onsite bidding as well as the newly added online simulcast bidding. This new service allows people to bid from anywhere using a computer, smartphone or tablet or attend onsite the day of the auction to place a bid.

At the beginning of the week that the auction is held customers can view the inventory of vehicles through the NDDOT website at dot.nd.gov and the auction website at bidorr.com.

State Fleet Manager, Tim Paul would like to remind customers to register on the auction site before the start of the auction for a chance to bid remotely. “If you are onsite at the auction you will just need to get a number for bidding the same way you always have,” says Paul. “But in order to bid online you will need to pre-register through the auction site prior to the event.” Customers are also able to pre-bid if they are unable to attend onsite or online.

This new online bidding allows people who could not otherwise make it to the auction to have the same opportunity as those attending. Vehicles up for auction have been detailed and serviced and are ready to drive off the lot. Auctions often include sedans, vans, pick-up trucks and even snowplow trucks. Please visit the DOT’s website at dot.nd.gov for dates, locations and more information.
