On Friday night the clouds dumped three-and-a-half inches of rain on the fair grounds. Abundant lightning and thunder continued throughout the overnight hours. The result was a mucky mess, causing the big boys tractor pull to be cancelled on Saturday. Steam threshers just wouldn't be the same with without a tractor pull though, so the kids pedal pull was held despite the wet conditions. Erin Greiner of New Rockford, shared the photo above of her son Seth competing in the event.

A steam powered sawmill went into to operation for the first time in years. Volunteers showcased this historic sawmill that had been acquired several years prior at an auction held by the former Fullerton threshing show. This past summer Lance Straabe and Lucas Jury led a crew in building a concrete base west of the new Stavik diesel building for the sawmill. Kevin Johnson prepped the site. The crew successfully got the sawmill operating on Sunday. Boy oh boy did the sawdust fly! The Gaar-Scott steamer that powered the mill is owned by Jon & Lori Jury of Valley City.
