A sure sign of fall and hunting season as Aaron Newcomb of Devils Lake visited at the Grann residence and introduced them to his new hunting dog, Gin. Thursday, John, Donna, Lacey, Ben and Brittany Grann attended the 2019 Country Woman of the Year reception at the Heritage Center in Bismarck as Donna was a finalist. Congratulations to Donna for being nominated. John, Donna and Lacey traveled to McVille on Friday for a NR-S Rockets football game. Bobbi Grann competed in the barrel racing at NDRA finals rodeo in Watford City over the weekend.

Pam Schmid attended Elisa Buehler and Joe Wentz’ wedding in Devils Lake on Saturday. Jane Smith and Pam went to the Manhattan Short Film Festival in New Rockford on Sunday.

On Thursday, Lester Roberts visited with Arnold Johnson and his wife, Naomi, who are staying in Sheyenne and are from Coco, Fla. Lester checked out the Farmers Market on Friday. Friday afternoon, Lester attended a birthday party for Janice Ferry. Happy belated birthday, Janice. Sunday visitors at Lester’s were Chad Getscher and Midge Quam. Lester visited James Nelson Sunday evening.

Howard, Helen, Doug and Joe Schmid traveled to Rapid City, S.D. to attend the funeral for Helen’s sister, LuAlla Heilman. She was 91. Our sympathy to Helen and her family. Howard and Helen and Linda and Dave Madson were Tuesday afternoon coffee guests at the home of Kenny and Eloise Ploium. It was delightful. Dickie Evenson and Jeremy Ploium joined the group for coffee a bit later.

Doris Griffin attended the first fall meeting of the Timely Topics group held at the Senior Center in Minnewaukan on Thursday.

Last Saturday, Jake, Amanda, Fallyn and Piper Hegland took in the UJ football game in Jamestown. The Heglands were overnight guests at the home of Amanda’s brother Ryder and his wife Alyssa Weischedel in Jamestown following the game. A birthday party for Piper was held at the Weischedel home. They were joined by Amanda and Ryder’s parents, Terry and Nancy and their grandmother, Dorothy Lamb from Oneida, S.D.

Saturday morning, Dave, Linda, Melodie, Kennedee and McKenzee Madson traveled to Fargo to celebrate Linda’s aunt, Gladys Tweit’s 85th birthday. Also attending were all of Gladys’s children: Joni Duckworth of Larimore; John of Watford City; Julie Tweit-Erickson of Andover, Minn.’ and Joe and his dog Sig, of Boise, Idaho; Mike Tefft of Kendrick, Idaho; Julie’s children, Clark and Valerie of Bemidji, and Julie’s husband, Jan; John’s daughter Kelsie Greenhaw and her children, Maddie, Grady and Griff of Watford City; Joni’s son, Jackson and his wife, Des of Fargo, and Carrie Madson It was also Jackson’s 40th birthday. It was a loud, boisterous and just plain fun time. Dave, Linda, Melodie, Kennedee and McKenzee returned home on Sunday afternoon. Carrie went back to Shawn and Cathy Caulfield’s in Jamestown and is an overnight guest at their home Sunday night.
