Maddock Opera House presents "An Evening on Broadway"

A new show created and produced by Bill Sorensen hits the road Oct. 18 - 20. Sorensen will host “An Evening on Broadway.” Performing with him are former Medora Musical hosts Emily Walter and Job Christenson and former Burning Hills Singers Bethany and Levi Andrist.

Queen of the West Emily Walter has hosted the Medora Musical, performed in “A Magical Medora Christmas” and has hosted the popular “Medora Gospel Brunch.” She spent several years in the Strategic Air Command Band and as a featured vocalist performing all over the world.

Actor, singer, dancer and playwright Job Christenson, of Grand Forks has hosted the Medora Musical, performed in A Magical Medora Christmas and starred on Broadway. He lives in New York, continues as artistic and development director for Sleepy Hollow Theatre and Arts Park in Bismarck, and is working on a North Dakota based play trilogy.

Family man, lawyer, and Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation board member Levi Andrist is excited for the opportunity to perform again professionally. He earned a degree in music from Concordia College and performed for four summers in the Medora Musical. He will sing and play piano for the tour.

Bethany (Orn) Andrist was a Burning Hills Singer in the Medora Musicals and played Belle in the South Dakota premiere of “Beauty and the Beast” at Northern State University. Bethany and her husband Levi currently put their music degrees to use by leading worship at Lord of Life Lutheran in Bismarck.

Bill Sorensen served as co-host of the Medora Musical for seven years and has been the featured speaker in the “Medora Gospel Brunch” since its inception. Sorensen produced and appeared in the “4M Review” variety show in Medora for 30 years and plans to return for four shows per week in the summer of 2020. This is his sixth year producing and starring in the “Magical Medora Christmas” traveling show.  

General admission tickets for all shows are $25 and are available locally. The tour schedule follows:

• Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m., Kittson County High School, Hallock, MN

• Oct. 20 at 3 p.m., Maddock Opera House
