Locals defeat ‘Chucks
In need of a victory to move up the Region 4 table, the NR-S Rockets put a strong match together and defeated the St. John Woodchucks in three sets, 25-15, 25-19 and 25-17, Thursday night, Oct. 3, at the NRSHS Gym.
Kayahna Hopfauf hit 11 kills in the victory, while McKayla Waldo and Brianna Price stifled the St. John hitters with 11 combined blocks.
Along with Hopfauf’s big game, Hannah Haley had seven kills and Price four more. The Rocket offense rode high thanks to 25 assists by Dani Bjerke.

Bjerke, Haley, Chloe Heinz and Kindra Jacobson all had two aces from the service line.
The Rockets also took the junior varsity match in two sets, 25-10 and 25-22.
