Six talented students from the New Rockford-Sheyenne Music Department took part in the 21st annual NDSU High School Choral Festival Oct. 6 and 7. This long-standing event provides an opportunity for high school choir members to work with NDSU music faculty and perform at an evening concert. Students collaborated with over 500 students from North Dakota and Minnesota.
Northwest Festival concert to be held Saturday at Minot State University
Seven high school musicians auditioned and were selected to participate in the 41st annual Northwest International Festival of Music at Minot State University on Nov. 1 and 2. Students will participate in two days of large group music rehearsals under the leadership of world-class conductors and engage in small sectional rehearsals led by vocal and instrumental specialists.
The two-day festival culminates with performances by all of the Northwest Festival honor ensembles on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Anne Nicole Nelson Hall on the Minot State University campus. The band concert begins at 1:30 pm, followed by the choir at 3:30 p.m. The concerts are open to the public, and tickets are available at the door.
