A special tree will be brightened at Carrington Medical Center on Monday, Dec. 2, when Carrington Medical Center Auxiliary celebrates its 33rd annual “Tree of Lights” lighting ceremony.
The program will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the south courtyard at Carrington Medical Center. Refreshments will be served in the south foyer hosted by CHI Health at Home. Pastor Keith Hurlbut will deliver an invocation, followed by greetings from Mayor Tom Erdman, VP of Patient Care Services Jodi Hovdeness and President of CMC Auxiliary Renee Riedesel. Special music will be provided by Darwin Solberg. Mary Otto and Bernadine Anderson are co-chairpersons of this event.
This project has been a rewarding and inspiring one for the auxiliary. Since its inception in 1987, the evergreen tree which was planted especially for this project has grown tremendously and the lighting ceremony continues to be an awe-inspiring event; however, due to the enormity of the tree and the logistics of hanging the lights and continual wind damage to the lights, we purchased a 10’ tree for this special event for 2019.
CHI Health at Home has received one-half of the proceeds for the past 14 years and will once again be a recipient. The other half goes to Carrington Medical Center to purchase medical equipment for the facility.
“Tree of Lights” forms are available at all medical centers in Carrington and New Rockford; Carrington Medical Center and Clinic and area churches. Lights may be purchased in memory of someone or as a greeting to someone. White lights are $2; Blue $5; Green $10; Red $25; and Gold $50. When you purchase a light as a greeting to someone, a card will be sent in your name to that person. Please include the address of the person to which the greeting should be sent.
There will be a list of donors in the Foster County Independent after the first of the year and also on a board by the gift shop at Carrington Medical Center.
Happy Heart Hutch will be open Dec. 2 from noon – 8:30 p.m. with 20% off storewide.
