Kenneth "Kenny" Swart, 63, of Heaton, N.D., died peacefully Dec. 5, 2019, at Sanford Health in Fargo. Funeral services were held Dec 11 at Evans Funeral Home, Carrington, N.D. Burial will be held at a future date at Heaton Cemetery. Rev. Rick Loewen officiated. Honorary bearers were all of Kenney's family and close friends. Military honors were provided by the U.S. Air Force Funeral Honor Team.
Kenneth Doyal Swart, was born Aug. 1, 1956, in Mandan, N.D. He was the son of Lester and Mary (Hood) Swart. Kenny grew up in Heaton and he attended school in Fessenden.
Kenny enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1974. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. Upon his discharge, Kenny attended the Police Academy in 1978, and was a Deputy Sheriff until 1985. He then trucked for four years. In 1989, Kenny started working for the Canadian Pacific Railroad and later switched over to Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.
Kenny was also a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance Way Union.
He is survived by his four children, Bridgett, Jessica, Kristine and Jacob; three siblings Lavonne, Gary and Kevin; three grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Kenny is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Dan.
