Doris Griffin was a volunteer bell ringer for the Salvation Army at the Minnewaukan Post Office on Friday.

Last week, Jake, Amanda, Fallyn and Piper Hegland were in Minneapolis for Piper’s medical appointments. Tuesday, the Heglands took in the girls basketball game in New Rockford.

Monday, Harriman’s Coffee Shop volunteers had a Christmas progressive supper. The group started at the home of Charlotte Simon where they had appetizers. They then moved on to the home of Carol Backstrom for the main course and finished with dessert at the home of Marie Fragodt. Randy and Charlotte and grandsons, Easton and Jaxon, attended Max Thompson’s Kindergarten Christmas program at Holy Family Elementary School in Grand Forks. Friday, Carson, Heidi, Max and Elin Thompson, Mark, Tessa, Mason and Miles Simon, Lee, Amy, Easton and Jaxon Simon all arrived at Randy and Charlotte’s home to celebrate Christmas. That evening, they had dinner and opened gifts. Saturday, the group enjoyed a meal together and had fun playing games and visiting. Dean, Rita and Michael Sorlie stopped in for a visit Saturday evening. Sunday, Randy and Charlotte went to the annual Christmas Gala entitled “The Christmas Conundrum” directed by Rachael Markestad. This was a dessert theater sponsored by the Maddock Opera House Association.

Wednesday evening, Linda Madson accompanied Melodie, Kennedee and McKenzee Madson to Our Savior Church for the children’s Christmas Program. Kennedee and McKenzee were participants. Following the service, the girls had ice skating practice for their Synchro Team. Friday and Saturday, Carrie Prince was a guest at Melodie’s home. Melodie, Carrie and Linda did some Christmas baking. The baking continued Saturday.

Neal Swenson visited Todd Buehler on Monday morning. Todd’s Tuesday visitors were Randy Simon, Ed Gilderhus and Beth Olsen. Brittin Buehler visited Todd, Nadley and Hunter on Monday and Tuesday afternoons. Dave Kenner and John Rice watched the Bison game with Todd Saturday afternoon. Hunter traveled to Fargo on Saturday for the Bison game. Nadley met Laurie Pranke in Maddock on Sunday to celebrate Laurie’s birthday and watch the show, “A Christmas Conundrum.”

John, Donna and Lacey Grann attended the CNDC boys basketball tournament in Rugby on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening to cheer for the New Rockford Sheyenne Rockets. It was a fun tournament. The Rockets fell short in the championship game and ended the tournament in second place.

A Thought To Remember: There is no failure except in no longer trying.
