Area riders take home awards from the Roughrider Rodeo Banquet

Rodeo enthusiasts from around the state gathered on in Minot on Saturday, Jan. 4.

Sisters Lacey and Brittany Grann were among those in attendance who were recognized by the Roughrider Rodeo Association. Lacey took home the year-end Reserve Champion in Ladies Goat Tying. Brittany earned the year end Reserve Champion in Ladies Barrel Racing. Their sister Bobbi (not pictured) was the finals average Ladies Goat Tying Champion.

Several other area cowboys and cowgirls ranked in the top 10 for their events in the year-end standings, as listed on the Roughrider Rodeo Association website:

• Jade Boote, Binford: fourth place Women's AA; champion in Breakaway; 10th in Goat Tying

• Jory Boote, Binford: fifth in Tie Down Roping

• Chyanne Clark, Carrington: ninth in Ladies Goat Tying

• Waylyn Davis, Sheyenne: third in Junior Barrel Racing

• Ben Grann, Sheyenne: fourth in Mens Tie Down Roping

• Johnny Grann, Sheyenne: fifth in Junior Tie Down Roping

• Zach Johnson, Minnewaukan: seventh in Steer Wrestling

• Kambree Kvamme, Carrington: fourth in Junior Girls AA; sixth in Junior Breakaway; fourth in Junior Barrel Racing; and seventh in Junior Goat Tying

• Kaulder Kvamme, Carrington: sixth in Junior Tie Down Roping 

• Kirra Kvamme, Carrington: ninth in Junior Goat Tying

• Dustin Rogers, Grace City: fourth in Bull Riding

• Colter Solderholm, Sheyenne: seventh in Mens Tie Down Roping

• Logan Topp, Grace City: Champion in Junior. Tie Down Roping, Champion in Junior Steer Wrestling and Reserve Champion in Junior Boys AA 

• Mariah Topp, Grace City: sixth in Junior Girls AA; ninth in Junior Barrel Race, and fifth in Junior Goat Tying
