Knights of Columbus free throw competition a swish

On Sunday, Jan. 12, the Knights of Columbus Local Council #2477 sponsored the 35th annual free throw competition at the New Rockford-Sheyenne School gymnasium.

Of the 31 participants, five girls and five boys ages 9 to 13, from New Rockford-Sheyenne School were named local champions.

All youngsters ages 9 to 14 were eligible to participate. There were also second and third place awards given out.

Each contestant was allowed 15 free throw attempts in the contest. Ties were settled by successive rounds of five free throws per contestant until a winner emerged.

All local winners advance to the District Shoot Off in Devils Lake on Sunday, Jan. 26 at 3 p.m.

Girls

9 year olds: MacKenzie Allmaras

11 year old: Alivia Yr
