Rocket boys roll past Bearcats

Most of the first quarter was quite close, but the locals pulled away from there and took control, defeating North Star by a final score of 84-49 in non-district boys basketball action, played here on Thursday, Jan. 23. A good crowd of Rocket fans were on hand.

The Rockets led virtually all the way, and at all quarter stops, 23-11, 47-18, 68-30, and again won going away, by a final of 84-49. It was a good team effort all the way around by the locals. All 13 Rockets saw playing time and 11 got into the scoring column.

At times North Star had trouble handling defensive pressure. Ben Wagenmann paced the visitors with 13 points. Tommy Nikolaisen added 11 points. New Rockford-Sheyenne had good scoring balance. Evan Ulrich led the locals with a game high 21 points. Hunter Thompson and Nick Berglund each added 12. Nathan Holzwarth added 10 points. New Rockford-Sheyenne improves to 6-2 overall.
